Concerning death, fear and habit

Most professional writers are pretty forgettable. Newspaper dogma holds that the first paragraph serve as a plot synopsis for the casual reader. A focus on making a clear argument keeps many writers for daily, weekly, monthly and whatnot publications from attending to the affect.

Heather Havrilesky, being awesome, always leads with the tangent. To the Rabbit, the nut is the applicable lesson she has drawn out of an actor's gesture, the thing that she thought of after the other thing she thought of after noticing something about a trashy reality show. Havrilesky gets to the point by refusing to allow her job to interfere with her work. Her job is to review TV, her work is to consider TV's place in her life and tell me about it.
